Ann's musical background includes chorus, clarinet, and guitar. One of her favorite memories is participating in the high-stepping, award-winning UW-Madison marching band. Another is playing guitar for groups in her parents' home at the age of ten. Her son, Zed, introduced her to Music Together®. As the son of a juggling Dad and dancing Mom, a common meeting place for Zed and his parents has been the MT experience. Ann is a licensed Music Together director, registered Music Together Teacher - and has also obtained the next level of education through Music Together, her Certification I. Ann loves teaching a program that is research based with a solid foundation in how young children learn - not to mention the joy and laughter that families exhibit as they get hooked on experiencing the powerful world of music.
Teacher Lucy (registered Music Together teacher) - Lucy Schram realized in the spring of 8th grade that she wanted to become a music teacher. During her freshman year of high school she started teaching music lessons. Since then she has received a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Southern Illinois University and a Master's Degree in Music Education from Southern Oregon University, The American Band College. Lucy taught band in the Pleasant Ridge School District for 10 years, along with after school music enrichment courses before stepping away from the classroom. Four children and six years of Music Together classes have allowed her to see how wonderful MT is for all ages. To see little ones begin to bounce, sway and pound on drums all the way to listening to your child sing their very first song in full form is just amazing. The shows that the Schram Children put on are filled with a variety of MT songs and actions. Loving to teach music and share that love of music with others is the number one reason why Lucy has decided to be a part of the Music Together program. Lucy, her husband Pete (also a music teacher), and her children have lived in Grass Valley for 12 years. The SchramFam sings songs for all actions around the house. Lucy currently works as the Far West Ski Administrator and teaches tennis. Teaching Music Together will round out all loves of family, teaching, skiing and tennis!
Odile moved to Nevada City with her family in 2001. Many of her most
cherished memories with her two young children have been while sharing music,
especially through song. She can be found singing at all times of day – wake up
songs, good night songs, brush your teeth songs, time to get dressed songs, the
list goes on!
Lisa uses her musical experience in many different capacities. She used music as a grounding force in her massage work and created a body work she called Rhythmic Massage, where music was the meeting place with her clients. As a class room assistant with third graders and a story teller to K-5 kids, she loved to weave the songs and movements into a story for the children to absorb each week. Music Together allows the same kinds of opportunities for parents to connect with their children. Though Lisa found her fondness of children through working as a teacher’s assistant and a story teller, it was growing up with her own children that made her cherish the parent-child relationship. Now that her children are growing up so fast, she enjoys sharing her love of families, music, rhythm and story through her own Music Together classes.
